After living in San Francisco for almost three years, I've been lucky to see so much of what the city has to offer. But once you've seen and experienced all the top rated attractions and had your fair share of clam chowder bowls at Fisherman's Wharf, you realize there's so much more to learn and love about this city beyond its Golden Gate arches and Alcatraz Island. If you're like me and you love discovering hidden gems when you travel, then you must check out some of San Francisco's most picturesque spots off the beaten path.
Can I let you in on a little secret? The rest of the country hates us because of our weather. Parts of lovely Northern California can easily climb into triple-digits, but with our low humidity and clear skies we can understand why so many are jealous of us. And even better, we know about the best swimming holes in Northern California, where you can cool off when the weather gets hot! When it comes to taking a dip on a hot day, there are a few swimming holes you may not even know about. While the rest of Northern California goes to the same beach again every year, here are a few places you can go to impress your family and friends.

Deep in the forests of Yosemite National Park, there is a scary swinging bridge that isn't all that high or long, but is all that stands between you and the river's strong current below.
Would you cross this foot bridge? The hero dashes out on to an old swinging bridge as ropes begin to fray or boards begin to break… Indiana Jones fans will know exactly what I am talking about!
If you are an adrenaline junkie and love this kind of a thrill, then this scenic hike in Yosemite National Park over a real life swinging bridge is the adventure for you! Northern California In Your Inbox spinner.
